Honey Smokey BBQ Sauce THM-E

I have been looking for a BBQ sauce that is on plan but doesn’t cause inflammation.  We have just recently removed nightshades from our eating and it has made such a huge difference in the way we feel. So I don’t want to just give into things here and there and feel the side effects.   Increased energy and pain free is worth all the effort in making these sauces work for my family.

The ( No Matta) sauce has been such a blessing and my children just love it ! Such a wonderful thing when you can get your children to eat beets and it doesn’t taste like beet!

So this was definitely worth a try and I was NOT disappointed at all!  We have had this with chicken and over grassfed burgers.

IT IS SO GOOD!!

It taste like BBQ!

Removing Nightshades isn’t something easy when you love things that have spice! But learning to take the extra time making things we love and having them taste good is so rewarding.

I came across the BEST nightshade free BBQ sauce from “meatified” and decided to keep some of the ingredients and add some of my own . This BBQ sauce is on plan and I know you will love it !  I kept wondering if it was all going to come together . It seemed a little strange the ingredients, but  trust me!! It taste AMAZINGGGG!!!!! No more bottled BBQ from the store! No more inflammation !! Even if I wasn’t nightshade free I would still pick this BBQ sauce over a bottled one at the store any day, its that good!!  Its has an addicting taste and its made from real ingredients. Everyone has a favorite, mine is honey! Try switching up spices to match your favorite flavor!

For this quick and easy BBQ, throw all of these ingredients into a blender and blend til it runs smooth.
-1 onion chopped
-1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
-1/2 cup applesauce
-1/4 cup liquid aminos ( I used regular) use coconut if you like.
-1/4 cup raw honey
-1/4 cup pumpkin purée ( canned pumpkin)
-2 tbsp black strap molasses
-2 garlic cloves
-2 tbsp ground ginger
-1 tbsp liquid smoke

Directions:
Now pour into a pot and heat up to a slow boil stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to low/med stirring often until it reaches a deep rich color. Use immediately or cool and store in glass jars for up to 2 months.

This BBQ is a little spicy for some children. When you taste it on its own it’s spicy but mixed into chicken a smaller child may be able to eat it . My 2-3 yr old did have some mixed in chicken.
You decide for your family 🙂 (you could cut the garlic and ginger back to half and that should make it more mild.)

  1. Can you make these pinable on Pinterest? The recipes look so but I’ll forget where I saw them unless I pin them to one of my boards.
